Pretty Little Studio Blog Hop
Did you know that each of us is giving something away? Yay! On every blog you’ll have a chance to win some PLS goodies. Leave a comment here for me and I’ll do a drawing for a $5 Pretty Little Studio coupon.
The project I created is a Christmas mini album. I used the Woodland Christmas collection (which I adore!). The album was created by using coptic stitching (if you’ve never done it, there are some great videos on youtube that can teach you, that's how I learned). I love this collection so much that I hate even cutting up the papers. I used part of the packaging to make the cover for this album. There it is. My secret is out. I hoard pretty patterned paper.
I left much of the album blank for now. I wanted to save room for pictures I take this Christmas. I only completed these two pages. The first is a picture of my baby boy (who is gigantic for some reason. Perhaps I should stop feeding him….). I asked for a “normal smile” so I could get a good picture of him by the tree we just put up. I got a face that resembles a person sucking on a sour lemon. The kid is out to get me, I’m telling you.
The next one is a precious picture of the aforementioned kiddo snuggled in with my Daddy. On a side note, I have the most amazing Daddy on earth (ahem, yes I’m 34. Yes, I call him Daddy.) This time last year he fell and broke his jaw into 8 pieces. I cannot tell you the fear I felt, because I cannot imagine my life without him in it. God blessed us to keep him a while longer. So glad that this year is better than last! I am taking advantage of this moment to tell how blessed I feel every time I see him hold my son. If you haven’t hugged those you love today, please do that now. I’ll wait here.
Sorry for being all sentimental, making Christmas albums does that to me. Anyway, this new collection is simply stunning. I was so excited when the package arrived that I ran amok down the hall at work shoving it in the faces of people who have absolutely no interest in paper crafts. They officially think I’m nuts, but if you get your hands on some of this paper, you’ll get it, trust me. ;) Thanks again for stopping by! Drop by on Friday and I'll announce a winner! Don't forget, your next stop is here.

PLS Projects
Hi everyone! I have some Pretty Little Studio projects to share. This first one is a star shaped album that I created after our recent road trip. I'm only loading one picture here, but if you want to take a closer look at the album and see the tutorial I created, click here.
I adore PLS's Monsieur collection. The papers were perfect for this album. This next project is up on the PLS blog today (Oct. 24).
I had so much fun with this project. I used the Neapolitan line, which just screams happiness. The colors are gorgeous and perfect for happy pictures. Thanks for stopping by! :)

New PLS Layouts
Hi everyone! I just realized that I forgot to post my last layout that went up on the PLS blog a week or so ago. That's what I get for being way too busy! Here it is:
I absolutely love the Neapolitan line. The colors are just gorgeous and the patterns are so fun. Here is my latest page, made using the Sandcastle line:
I was instantly excited when I saw this sketch. I love the look of the circles behind the photo. I had been drooling over the Sandcastle collection for a while, and decided this sketch was perfect. My problem was that I knew my son would revolt if I used that much pink on one of his pages, so I borrowed my friend's granddaughter. This little girl is a mess! She is hilariously funny and sassy, and the Sandcastle papers worked perfectly with this sweet picture of her. I did some splatters with pink and yellow spray inks and traced the bottom of a pop can for the circles in the background. Weird, I know. But it was handy, and it worked.
I made the paper curls by cutting strips of the patterned paper and gluing together to make them double sided. Then I just curled them up and glued them in place. I added tons of little hexagons and butterflies, along with a few blingy rhinestones. The bingo card and star tag were perfect for layering beside the photo. I finished things off with the quote from Shakespeare, which fits the little lady to a T.

New Coptic Stitched Journal and a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
Hi everyone! Thanks for your sweet comments on my last post. I am so enjoying being part of the PLS design team! I have a new project up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today and I wanted to share it here as well. I created a coptic stitched journal with the Apple Cider Collection.
I know I've talked about coptic stitching before on this blog, but I cannot tell you how much I love it! It is so nice to be able to stitch up a journal for a friend or even use the technique for creating a mini album. You can find the YouTube video I learned from by clicking here.
As I said before, I used the Apple Cider collection from PLS for this journal. I adore this collection. The colors are just gorgeous and could not be better for this time of year. I threw in a few tabs from the Nature Walk collection, which is equally wonderful. Here's a shot of one of the dividers inside the journal:
I have also picked a random winner for the PLS giveaway. Drum roll please......
The winner is...... Chark! Yay! Please email me at sindij101702@gmail.com and we will talk about the details. Thanks everyone!

My Pretty Little Studio Debut :)
Today is my official introduction on the Pretty Little Studio blog! I am so excited to make my debut as part of this amazing team of ladies. Here's a link if you'd like to check it out: http://prettylittlestudio.com/plsblog/. We were asked to create a layout for our big debuts, and here is mine:
I mixed collections on this one, using a bit of the new Neapolitan collection and the Nature Walk collection. If you haven't worked with PLS products yet, you are missing out! The colors are gorgeous and collections mix so well. The new Neapolitan collection is especially gorgeous!
In honor of the design team introductions, PLS is giving away a different prize every day! I think I am last in line, so go back to the other posts and see if you can still enter to win!
I am also giving away a PLS goodie here! Leave me a comment for a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to Pretty Little Studio. I'll announce a winner on September 16th, so be sure to stop back by then! :)

Nature Stuff
Hello everyone! I have some layouts to share. The first one I completed for the Nature Challenge at private board I visit. I'm also linking up at Paper Issues for their Nature Walk issue. They are sponsored this week by Pretty Little Studio. Sidebar: Did I mention I made the design team there? lol. Soooooo excited about that! I start in September. :) Hop on over and take a look. The Nature Walk collection from PLS is amazing. I cannot wait to get my hands on it! Anyway, here's my layout:
These photos were taken not too far from my front door. I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful piece of God's creation! This next layout is for a weaving challenge on the same private board I mentioned. Although I'll confess I may get disqualified. lol. It's hard to tell but the strips on each side are actually two pieces of paper woven together. This one went a little haywire on me!
These are some shots of my goofy little guy. He immediately strikes a pose as soon as he sees a camera. He's such a nutball! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Some Layouts and a Yippee Skippee Kinda Day!
Here's a layout I completed for the random challenge at Scrappin' Peeps. We were supposed to use our scraps, and goodness knows I have plenty of those laying around!
The weather is still driving me nuts. It has been rainy and dreary and whatnot for so long now. I am over it! It is so hard to get a good picture of a layout when the sky is so dreary. Anyway, here's another page I did. This one was just for fun. I took this picture during a brief (ahem, very brief) moment of sunshine yesterday.
And might I also just say..... YAY ME! Go here to read about the news that made my day:

New Layouts
Just wanted to share a few layouts...
This first one is for a challenge over at Scrap Our Stash. I was on the design team there for a while and enjoyed all the challenges. This challenge was to create a layout with a "guy" picture and use at least 5 brads. I admit, I struggled with the brads. I had to dig WAY down into my stash to find any. I'm glad I did, though. They added a cute touch to this layout.

The weather was not cooperating with me today so I couldn't get a great picture. I'm hoping I can retake it tomorrow and do better. I'll replace this one if I do.
This next one if for a the June Title Challenge at Scrappin' Peeps. I am so proud of this layout. It is one of my favorites in a long time. I just love that picture of my little guy!
The last one is for a challenge at Colorful Creations.

I Stink at Blogging....
but in my defense, I've had a lot of internet issues lately. And I was abducted by aliens... and I had to go to Timbuktu for a family emergency... and my computer exploded, etc. Anywho... here are a couple of layouts:
This page was created for case file # 62 at CSI. I always love the challenges there and ADORED the color scheme in this file. I never would have put those colors together on my own, but I'm glad they motivated me to do it. I loved the result!
Thanks for stopping by! :)
This page was created for a challenge over at Colorful Creations. I just stumbled upon this site the other day and excited to have found it. They seem to have tons of challenges and everyone is super friendly.

Slump City
So I'm going to admit that I've been in a slump for a while. Everything I worked on just seemed to turn out kind of "blah" to me. I think I've managed to get back on track but I suppose that remains to be seen....
This first layout is a "just because" layout. I guess it's a "just because every challenge/sketch I looked at wasn't working for me so I decided to strike out on my own" kinda layout. Anyway, here it is (and I'm tickled with it!):
It's one of my favorite pictures I ever took of my little boy. I think I may have scrapped it before, eons ago, actually. The little tag-like-thingies are paint samples. They've been laying on my scrap table since summer, just begging to be used. I did some stitching with my handy-dandy new sewing machine that I bought myself for Christmas. I'm learning to use it but I think it's safe to say I'm no seamstress. lol.
This next layout is for Ashley Horton's January Sketch It Out over at Club CK. I always love her sketches and always worry that I took too much liberty with them. Here's the sketch:
And here's my page:
I wound up loving this layout, too. Thanks for the wonderful sketch, Ashley!
Here's another just because layout. I struggled with this one and I'm still not sure I'm diggin' it, but I'm sick of fooling with it so I guess I'll learn to live with it:
I swear, my little guy has the bluest eyes in the world. The journaling reads: "I have a feeling that a pretty little girl is going to lose her heart to those blue eyes someday."
Thanks for stopping by! :)
